3.7.4. Hreflang tags

3.7.4. Hreflang tags

In MageSuite you can set hreflang tags for language- or region-specific store views. By doing so you can guide search engines about the different variations of the site and so the search engines points the user to the most appropriate version (see the official recommendation by Google: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/189077?hl=en).

In order to use hreflang tags access STORES / SETTINGS / CONFIGURATION and then navigate to MAGESUITE and then SEO. In the HREFLANG TAGS dropdown select “YES” if you want to use
hreflang tags. Based on the store view configuration, MageSuite will automatically generate hreflang tags using the Magento store view codes as hreflang codes. You can also select a store view which should be used for the x-default hreflang tag (the store view which should be used for unlocalized users) in the X-DEFAULT dropdown. When the settings here are made click “SAVE CONFIG” in the top section on the
right-hand side.47

You can also modify the hreflang codes to be used. Access STORES / SETTINGS / ALL STORES. Click on the store view where you want to edit the hreflang code. In the HREFLANG CODE input field enter the custom hreflang code you want to use.48
